Asphalting Supervisor

The Opportunity:

Randstad are partnering with a Tier 1 infrastructure Contractor to appoint a Asphalting Supervisors to deliver multiple projects across Melbourne Metro areas.

The successful candidate will have a strong site management background or an asphalt engineer looking to get site management experience under their belt.

A willingness to work night shifts will be required as demanded by project schedules.
About the Role:
The Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of asphalt laying and pavement construction. You will lead a crew of up to 8 skilled operators and labourers, ensuring production targets are met without compromising on quality or safety.
Key Requirements and Responsibilities:
  • Manage a crew of 6–8, including sprayers, paver operators, and roller drivers.
  • Conduct Pre-Starts, Toolboxes, and SWMS reviews. Ensure all worksites strictly adhere to Tier 1 HSE standards.
  • Complete daily site diaries, material dockets, and progress reports against the project schedule.
  • Managing and coordinating all on-site activities to ensure project progression according to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Strong understanding of VicRoads/Department of Transport (DoT) specifications.
  • Maintaining construction schedules and coordinating tasks to meet timelines.
  • Monitoring work quality and ensuring compliance with specified standards and codes.
  • Conducting inspections and addressing any issues during the construction process.
  • Acting as a liaison between project stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and clients.
  • Monitoring project expenses, tracking costs, and identifying potential cost-saving measures.
  • Addressing unexpected challenges and problems promptly to minimise disruptions.
